"You Have The Right To Remain Silent"

Who says anyone has to know? Sometimes the work of a plastic surgeon is so subtle, your friends will know you look better, they just won't know why. But, if you are considering this type of surgery, we understand that you will have many questions. How long will it take? Will I be able to drive home afterwards? Will I have scars? When will I be able to return to work? What follow-up care will be needed? Is this surgery really "right" for me? Are my expectations realistic?

We'll do our best to answer these questions, and any others you have. We want you to be completely informed before you make your decision, and completely comfortable about that decision.

Making Your Decision

To help you decide if this surgery is right for you, you may have an initial private consultation with a registered nurse who has special training in plastic and reconstructive surgery. The next step, assuming you wish to proceed, would be to meet with a physician who will go into more detail about your surgery. Assuming all is go, a date would then be set for your procedure.

Payment

Most major insurance carriers and HMOs are accepted for covered procedures. Payment for consultations is due on the day of the visit. Payment for cosmetic procedures is due before the day of surgery, unless other arrangements have been made.

After Your Surgery

Once surgery is completed, you will be scheduled for a follow-up visit with the physician to make sure your recovery is on track. You will be informed about any medications you will need. A professional technician will assist you with the use of cosmetics that can help conceal incision marks, discoloration and swelling.

Definitions

Plastic Surgery reshapes or repairs body structures. The word "plastic" comes from the Greek word plastikos, which means molding or giving form.

Cosmetic Surgery is a type of plastic surgery that reshapes facial and body features to improve a person's appearance.

Reconstructive Surgery is a type of plastic surgery that repairs deformities resulting from accidents, disease or birth defects. This type of surgery can improve movement and minimize disfigurement.
