Richmond, VA. (February 1, 2018) — HCA Virginia’s Henrico Doctors’ Hospital is celebrating American Heart Month by participating in the Little Hats, Big Hearts program. Volunteers for the American Heart Association are celebrating American Heart Month by knitting and crocheting red hats for all newborns at The Women’s Hospital at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital on Feb. 2 - National Wear Red Day. The hats will be gifted to all babies born in the month of February at the hospital.
“We are excited to participate in the Little Hats, Big Hearts program to help raise awareness for congenital heart defects,” said Will Wagnon, chief executive officer at Henrico Doctors’ Hospitals. “We would like to thank all of the volunteers for knitting red hats for all of the babies born at our hospital in February and the American Heart Association for allowing us to participate in this great program.”
The Little Hats, Big Hearts program provides hats to newborn babies in 460 hospitals across 40 states. For more information on the program, visit the American Heart Association’s website at www.heart.org/LittleHatsBigHearts.
