Richmond, Va. (Jun 23rd, 2016 ) – HCA Virginia’s Henrico Doctors’ Hospital has been re-designated a Breast imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

By awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy). With over 16,700 mammography procedures completed in 2015, the Breast Center at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital has maintained this accreditation and level of excellence for the past eight years.

“We are very proud to have maintained the status as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence,” said Dr. Melanie DeHart, Chief of Breast Imaging, Henrico Doctors’ Hospitals Radiology Associates of Richmond, Inc. “This designation reaffirms our team’s ongoing commitment to our community as we provide a multidisciplinary approach to complete breast care for all of our patients. Our breast diagnostic imaging centers offer digital mammography, including 3D mammography, ultrasound and breast MRI. With a highly experienced, board certified team of providers; we are here to continue to give you the quality care you deserve.”

Peer-review evaluations, conducted in each breast imaging modality by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field, have determined that this facility has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs.
